Borsalino Restaurant is an Italian Restaurant situated in Peterculter, on the outskirts of Aberdeen. It is family run and has been for over thirty years.
Established in 1976 when Franco Balsamo bought it from the previous owner, Jean Dunbar, who had run it as Pie Jeans’.
Franco built the restaurant up from a shack holding only four tables and a counter – to how it is now with over twenty tables, seating up to sixty people at a time, with a bar and reception area and an outside terrace for relaxing before or after a meal.
In 2007 Franco passed the reigns down to his son Luca Balsamo, who currently runs it along with Restaurant Manager Ian Smith. Together they now run what is regarded as one of the best Italian restaurants in the North East of Scotland. It provides customers, of young and old, with a mixture of classic Italian cuisine and new style dishes within the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Making the Borsalino an ultimately enjoyable and worthwhile experience.
