Our History

Borsalino restaurant is an Italian Resturant situated in Peterculter in the outskirts of Aberdeen. Established in 1976 when Franco Balsamo bought “Pie Jeans” from Jean Dunbar, the previous owner. Franco has made a building that had just four tables into the restaurant that it is now.

In 2007 Franco’s son, Luca Balsamo took the reigns of the restaurant and is the Head Chef in the restaurant. He has a team of dedicated staff who are always ready to do everything they can for you to make sure you leave completely satisfied. Although Franco is no longer running the restaurant, you will often still find him here. He particularly enjoys being in the restaurants at the weekends working with fellow Italian, Salvatore our superb tenor who you really must see, or to be correct, hear to believe.

The bar area has been newly decorated with beautiful Murals by local artist David Newbatt and a new separate bar is opening Summer 2010… perfect for those summer nights, relaxing and having a few drinks after a meal. There has also been an extension built which means we can now seat up to 30 people for private dining. Please see the “News & Events” section for more information on this.

Borsalino’s is regarded as one of the best Italian restaurants in the North East of Scotland. It provides customers with a mixture of classic Italian cuisine and new style dishes within the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. All in all it can truly be said that coming to Borsalino’s is an experience not to miss out on.
